Interim Category Manager - Food
c£450 per day, inside IR35
Hounslow or Manchester
Our Client is looking for an Interim Category Manager to aid their growing supply chain and procurement function. You must have a food / FMCG / Retail buying background and be responsible for the buying strategy of a food related category. Reporting into the Head of Procurement
your role will be to source and develop the product range for retail.
The role:
Review category performance and work with suppliers to develop product ranges
Launch new category plans, develop supply base and gain in depth customer knowledge
Manage and measure supplier relationships whilst driving negotiations
Ensure stock availability by working closely with the supply chain team and analyse slow moving stock
Required experience:
Retail buying of a trading category - food, ingredients, etc
Strong analytical and Excel skills
Demonstrable negotiation skills
Flexible with the ability to achieve tight deadline
Excellent influencing and persuasive
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
