Job Description

Harris House - Intensive Family support service for Disabled Children

Harris House service is a city wide specialist service for children with disabilities and only receives referrals from Birmingham Children's trust as part of their assessment and support package for children with disabilities.

Direct work takes place with disabled children and young people, siblings and their parents/carers which are delivered in the home and community over a 6 to 9 month period. Families are referred as a result of a range of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, compounded by the stress of caring for one or more disabled children e.g. challenging behaviour, anxiety, lack of self-confidence, hyperactivity, low self-esteem, poor social skills, children who have witnessed domestic violence, complex family circumstances, victims of crime, children with parents in prison etc.

Must be able to travel throughout the Locality to meet the requirements of the role.
