Not your standard IT Technician role!

This progressive manufacturing client are on the lookout for an experienced IT Technician to join their small but incredibly busy IT function. Reporting to the ICT Manager, the successful candidate will assist in installing and maintaining on site computer systems/network infrastructure to ensure the highest efficiency. You will be able to appropriately manage user incidents, problems, changes and upgrades relevant to company systems to ensure optimal performance. You will also be involved in projects relating to system upgrades and various ongoing business security initiatives/requirements.

You will be required to:

• Establish good working relationships across the Business including Projects and Engineering.
• Provide support for user systems (on site and remotely) and ensuring SLAs are met.
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance during working hours.
• Assess and implement new systems and solutions to provide enhanced levels of functionality and availability to the business.
• Represent the department in various projects and tasks.
• Ensure all allocated systems are appropriately configured, compliant and licensed.
• Update company core polices to comply with evolving security requirements.
• Certify all systems are installed and configured in line with best practises.
• Assess and implement new systems and solutions to provide enhanced levels of security to the business.
• Maintain appropriate relationships with third party suppliers and support partners as required.
• Updating/development of company intranet and business systems.

Criteria:

• Ideally an IT related degree or the equivalent
• Strong experience gained within IT support
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent Excel and Access knowledge
