Control Systems Engineer Supply Chain/Distribution Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire Salary: £50-55,000 + fantastic benefits + outstanding career opportunities Our Client is a business without peer, a company that leads the way in their sector. To assist their growth plans they are looking to recruit a Control Systems Engineer to add to their team. The successful candidate will be responsible of delivery high-quality technical support services and providing the highest level of Client satisfaction by understanding their client s system and software functionality. Through technical leadership and a commitment to service quality, the Control Systems Engineer will support our client by utilising a broad range of skills including software, electrical, and controls, and will take a proactive approach to improving performance and reliability. Supported by industry leaders based both in the UK & internationally we are looking for a candidate who has a strong track record of success, but more importantly somebody who has an outstanding career ahead. Key Responsibilities: Acting as the client s main point of contact regarding controls and software issues Continually training on software, hardware, and support standards to ensure the highest level of technical support to the client Driving CI activities across the site Carrying out effective fault finding and occasional modification of industrial control systems Identify and implement updates or upgrades to the PLC and automation control systems Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime Prioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment Actively work with the business to optimise the automation performance Complete all reports such as identifying call incidents by root cause, in line with Service Level Agreements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages Support service tracking and analysis of error rates and assist in the production of corrective action plans. Support the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of upgrades and enhancements The Person: Degree/ONC/HNC educated, or equivalent, in a technology based subject Experience of working with automated production systems Experience of fault finding and basic modification of PLC programs (Siemens/Beckhoff) Experience of Profibus/ASi communications Experience of Variable Speed Drives, Motors, and Safety Circuits Working knowledge of SQL Knowledge/experience in operating system functionality (Linux, Unix, networking, QNX) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a time critical environment Experience of transferring and knowledge sharing Proven competence in H&S PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Demonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer service Effective time and workload management skills Excellent documentation skills Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and show confidence in decisions made To apply for this fantastic career opportunity please email your CV or call for more details
