Job Specification - Prototype Technician
My client who is responsible for producing trailblazing electronic products that are used for the protecting our society is looking for an enthusiastic Prototype Engineer.
As Prototype Technician you will be responsible for creating prototypes, whilst working closely with electronic and mechanical design engineers. This is a varied role with tasks depending on the demand at present.
Some of the main duties
* Being able to fault find, repair and modify electronic assemblies
* Assisting engineering and development teams with routine tests to develop functional prototype solutions
* For operations to be carried out you will be ensuring that lab environments are safe
* Checking equipment and tools are fit for purpose
A few requirements
Essential
* Skilled in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
* Must be able to inspect electronic assemblies to IPC-A-610 or equivalent, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent, rework and repair of PCBs to IPC-7711C/7721C or equivalent
* Assemble components on a vehicle body in an assembly process
* Be able to perform on workshop tools such as BGA, rework machine, lathe, hand tools, CAD-CAM
* Fluent in spoken and written English for project and technical communication
* Knowledge and understanding of ESD and health and safety and electronic principles, assembly drawings, BoMs and test specifications
