Job Description

Develop the knowledge and technical ability of Operations by developing administrators to achieve the required standards through additional 'on desk' training sessions, feedback mechanisms such as Post Award Check Fails and OPS updates, creating and maintaining skill matrices, across Operations, supporting Talent programmes, career development and succession planning, ensuring you are up to date with processes and scheme rules and cascade this information across the Operational area and networking across peer groups.

MyCSP is a unique business. We are a mutual joint venture partnership between employee partners, who own 25% of the company held in trust for them by MyCSP Trust Company Ltd, and our private sector partner and Equiniti's pension business, Paymaster.

We have an elected Employee Partnership Council which has a seat and full decision-making rights on the Executive Management team. Employee partners are also represented by a Director at Board level.

Skills, Attributes and Behaviour:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English Grade C or above
  • Retirement provision Certificate/FPC/QPA
  • Good awareness of scheme rules, industry regulations, current pension legislation
  • General all-round knowledge of team and company products and services
  • Compendia knowledge: Experience to a high level including bespoke payroll authorisation, including running complicated workflows and confidence in making manual updates and using workflows to customise existing records. Possess the ability to interpret and understand Compendia records, be able to identify errors and omissions, then have the technical knowledge to resolve these problems.
  • Excel experience: A strong grasp of Excel functions, including the development and maintaining of calculators. The ability to confidently use existing spreadsheets and also have the expertise to develop new solutions. Experience of producing Mail Merges would be preferable also, as part of the annual Injury Benefit review.
  • Literacy and comprehension: The ability to thoroughly comprehend Injury Benefit applications. The applicant will be the final line in the decision-making process and should be able to demonstrate both a solid grasp of applications, the Scheme Rules, and previous precedents to ensure a consistent decision making.
  • Communication skills: The ability to discuss and explain the decisions, calculations and the Schemes in general to members and employers. Being empathetic and approachable to members of the Injury Benefit Scheme, many of whom are physically, emotionally or financially vulnerable.
