Job Description
Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Import person for a well established niche sector Freight Forwarder that deals with high value goods. The company is based in Colnbrook area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the full import process for a shipment, from start to finish
- Raising job files and inputting data into FM3
- Complete day to day import documentation
- Deal with all aspects of customs entry declarations
- Co-ordinate with customs for clearance
- Manage customs entry exceptions
- Develop effective relationships with customers for a professional and efficient service
- Communicating with clients regarding consignment progress
- Book appropriate transport
- Develop new business sales
- Support and cover export processes
- Communicating with sales and operations team throughout the day
- Provide administration assistance to sales team
- Provide assistance throughout the business as and when required
Experience/Skills required
- Three years+ experience of import customs entries
- Good knowledge of CPC codes & customs tariff
- Ability to calculate Duty & VAT cost for individual shipments
- Some experience of completing import and export entries
- Experience using ASM Sequoia
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Knowledge of the shipping process surrounding Brexit - an advantage but not mandatory
- NCTS knowledge - great advantage
- Experience using FMS (not essential as training will be given)
- Import knowledge of TA and bonded warehouse clearances
