Mortgage Packager/Underwriter

Our client, a customer focussed financial services organisation, have an exciting opportunity for a Mortgage professional to join their Lending Services Team.

In this role, you will be completing checks and assessing lending potential for all direct and introduced mortgage cases received by our client. You will ensure a first-class service is delivered to both internal and external stakeholders.

Whilst their head office is based in Lancashire, they offer a flexible approach to the working week with circa 2/3 days based at their head office and the remainder working remotely.

Duties will include:

• Carry out MCOB/FCA and Solicitor checks on receipt of applications
• Carry out IDVA checks including Transunion Call Validate checks
• Carry out Credit checks (decline if outside of policy).
• Input the application/upload from MVT platform, obtain any outstanding documentation and case manage to stage 25 (pre-offer)
• Administer requirement and receipt of other mortgage related fees if required
• To access AIP/Consent to credit enquiries for indication to lend/decline
• To assess applications on first receipt and accept/decline
• Underwrite and sanction applications within own personal lending mandate.
• Issue formal offer where you have assessed the merits of the application
• Build effective relationships with colleagues, first point of contact with queries providing support culture for peers

The successful individual will possess:

• Previous manual mortgage underwriting/packaging experience
• Ideally have previously held a personal mandate
• Ideally be CeMap qualifies
