Job Description

Senior Programme Manager (Energy & Carbon) - Salary: Up to £56,000; Hybrid Working; London

    • Experience with energy efficiency for large non-domestic buildings? (lighting solutions, heat pumps, biomass energy solutions )
    • Your knowledge would be invaluable for the strategy and delivery of grants for future heat decarbonisation in public-sector buildings; Universities, Hospitals, Local Authorities.

    This is an incredible opportunity to embed yourself in the Corporate Management Team of an organisation at the helm of saving the public sector an estimated £2.5 billion (+) in lifetime savings, whilst lowering the world's carbon footprint

Your Role:

- Developing and/or reviewing complex business cases for energy efficiency, heat decarbonisation and carbon reduction projects

- Manage a team; and the reporting of key indicators across programme teams

- Produce performance reporting to funders, the Board and stakeholders

- Managing programme risk registers, providing input on the Board's company-wide risk register

- Nurture relationships with delivery partners; including the Welsh and Scottish Government and Civil Service Departments / their Agencies

- Build new, and nurture existing, client and stakeholder relationships to increase pipelines of projects

- Managing accurate forecasting and budgeting of claims; risks of abandonments; ensuring timely payments are made to clients

- With the Assistant Director; prepare strategic reports for the Chief Executive, Directors, Board members and external funders

Your Requirements:

- Prior experience managing heat decarbonisation of large buildings

- Previous engagement or interface with the public sector

- Ability to advise senior stakeholders on a variety of energy-efficient technologies / low-carbon technologies

- Previous management of a team; motivate direct reports, assist with inductions where necessary

- Ability to successfully plan, lead and coordinate multiple high-value technical

- Relative experience in assessing carbon impacts at different stages of a project/product lifecycle

- Familiarity with methods of procurement and RIBA stages of design
