Production Maintenance Technician / Handyperson with a positive and professional attitude and previous experience gained in a similar role is required for a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing facility based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

SALARY: Starting from £25,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Maintenance Technician / Handyperson with a positive and professional attitude and previous experience gained in a similar role.

Working as a Production Maintenance Technician / Handyperson you will be part of the Production (Pilot Plant) team and will undertake painting, decorating, minor repairs and general building fabric improvements as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

As a Production Maintenance Technician / Handyperson you will be required to support and assist the Production Engineer in maintenance tasks and improvement projects.

DUTIES

Your role as a Production Maintenance Technician / Handyperson will include:

  • Painting, decorating, and minor repair/plastering work
  • Shifting/assembling furniture or equipment
  • Clearing, cleaning or organising general Production and service areas
  • Minor plumbing and carpentry
  • Minor general building fabric repairs and improvement projects
  • Support and assist Production Engineer in maintenance tasks and improvement projects
  • Use of computerised maintenance management system to view planned & unplanned tasks and manage workload and record comments/actions undertaken on Work Orders (hand-written/electronic)

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent
  • Further relevant training such as City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ's would be advantageous
  • Previous experience gained in a similar role is essential
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
  • Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Outstanding physical dexterity
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
