A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a top international law firm in London.Working closely with the General Counsel and Senior In-House Counsel of the firm, the successful Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering the contractual aspects of the law firm's procurement of third-party suppliers in the UK.
The role:The successful Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the firm's supplier contracts, from dealing with the initiation of the firm's diligence processes and a variety of contract negotiation and contract management services.
- The work is diverse so you can look forward to working on a broad range of supplier contracts. As this is a small team, the new Contracts Manager will get frontline exposure to business stakeholders and key managers.
- You will primarily be responsible for the review and negotiation of supplier agreements to be entered into by the UK, identifying key risks and explaining those to the relevant function in the firm
- You will work with a number of stakeholders at all different levels (e.g. Business Services heads) to understand the key requirements and associated timelines around supplier agreements
- Hold responsibility for the firm's bespoke contract management system and managing the various deadlines relevant to the supply chain contracts
- Assisting with updating templates and supplier questionnaires in order to capture the relevant information for managing supply chain contracts
- Proactively using the system to monitor imminent deadlines in time for pre-emptive action to be taken by the internal contract owner
- Assist with the ongoing development of the contract management system and the process for how the contract lifecycle is maintained, tracked and communicated to the relevant Business Service teams (i.e. alerts for expiry/ renewal / extension dates / key change dates / notice triggers)
- Working on the onboarding of new suppliers
- Providing practical advice on the operational aspects of the procurement process
About you: - The successful applicant will have at least two years' Contracts Management experience
- You will be someone who enjoys working with autonomy and a busy working environment, as you'll be working on multiple matters at once
- You will also have great communication skills and prior experience of communicating with stakeholders at different levels
- The ideal Contracts Manager will have experience of establishing and/or managing a procurement process in a professional services environment
- Interested applicants will be educated to LLB/GDL (or equivalent) level in the UK or overseas
- You will be familiar with data protection issues
- Experience in another law firm or the legal department/contracts team of a public company would be extremely beneficial
