    The Cost Engineering team for Wing, Moveables, HTP and VTP (siglum FCCAB) is offering a challenging position for a skilled Design / Mechanical engineer who is ready to support all current and future Airbus products on cost effectiveness through the design to cost process.
    Aerostructures Cost Engineering (FCCA) is responsible for estimating the full aircraft perimeter for all programs (R&T, Single Aisle family, A220, A330, A350XWB, A380, Beluga) both NRC (Non-Recurring Costs) and RC (Recurring Costs), Make and Buy.

    Cost Engineering is a key enabler for Airbus to reach competitive costing targets for all programs and pricing agreements with suppliers (new contracts, claims, pricing models) and to take balanced operational and strategic decisions on a wide range of manufacturing and procurement topics.
    Using detailed, up to date knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes, the Costing team provides a neutral, independent view of manufacturing costs and actively supports supplier negotiations and Airbus decision making on the full perimeter of current and future manufacturing processes/ technologies.

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

    • Produce RC and NRC estimates for A220 Design to Cost projects to enable business decisions to be made. Scope can be extended to SA and A350 programmes.

    • Responsible for using Digital Costing tools and models, ensuring estimates are harmonized and consistent with latest references and ways of working.

    • Support cost modeling, specifically for Composites manufacturing processes.

    • Support successful Design to Cost projects from concept through to Entry Into Service ensuring that the RC reduction is maintained.

    • Analyzing work package estimates, identifying opportunities and communicating those opportunities to Programme and Engineering customers

    • Understand and support Manufacturing and Engineering activities in order to better estimate the recurring and non-recurring costs associated with design changes, from R&T to Design-to-Cost activities.

    • Lead cost engineering discussions with Airbus suppliers

    • Participate in Design to Cost workshops and lead stakeholders towards cost effective technical changes.

    • Responsible for guaranteeing the quality, reliability and neutrality of the costing procedure and results.

      ABOUT YOU

      • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.

      • Manufacturing and/ or Engineering experience

      • Knowledge of detail part manufacturing processes: composite, metallic, machined and fabricated, assembly

      • Knowledge of non recurring impacts when industrializing product changes.

      • Design to cost experience and mindset

      • Ability to understand and explain design, manufacturing and costing details, while at the same time being able to step back to get the macro view for the complete business

      • Very good strategic and analytical skills incl. data analysis, able to breakdown complex topics, make root-cause analysis.

      • Team player with entrepreneurial mindset

      • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels

      • Strong ability to interact and influence

      • Demonstrate Airbus leadership expectations against BV role

      • Fluency in English is required, any additional languages will be viewed positively.
