Lab Assistant

Our well known Public Sector client is looking for an Laboratory Assistant to join the team in providing support to the various departments within the organisation.Starting ASAP - 12 weeks37 hours per week,Based on site£11.48p/hDuties:

• Provide support for the annual testing programmes for Ralstonia solanacearum (potato brown rot) and Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus (potato ring rot) in Scottish seed and ware potato stocks, as required under EC Directives 2006/63/EC and 2006/56/EC
• Appropriately register samples and maintain records
• Process samples in accordance with EU Legislation and UKAS Laboratory Accreditation ISO: 17025

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and able to work in a secure area with highly confidential materials
• Strong IT skills Word/Excel
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
