For end of February 2023 to at least December 2023 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Head of Music and Drama to cover a maternity leave at this successful 11-18 girls grammar school in Reading. Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement. Applicants need to be able to teach Music to A Level and Drama to GCSE. Music plays an important role in the life of Kendrick. Approximately 70% of students learn an instrument privately, at school, or with Berkshire Maestros. Central to the work of everyone in the Music Department is a desire to encourage students to give their very best at whatever level they can achieve. The result is a large number of students involved in musical activities of one kind or another and of a very high quality, culminating in the almost professional standards of some of the most able students. This position may suit a teacher who has at least two or three years experience, has aspirations to lead a department and can be mentored towards this role; or a more experienced teacher ready to take on a key departmental leadership position.
