Maternity Cover - At least 0.8FTE. Job share would be considered. TLR Allowance to be agreed. For end of February 2023 to at least December 2023 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Head of Music and Drama to cover a maternity leave at this successful 11-18 girls grammar school in Reading. Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement. Applicants need to be able to teach Music to A Level and Drama to GCSE. Music plays an important role in the life of Kendrick. Approximately 70% of students learn an instrument privately, at school, or with Berkshire Maestros. Central to the work of everyone in the Music Department is a desire to encourage students to give their very best at whatever level they can achieve. The result is a large number of students involved in musical activities of one kind or another and of a very high quality, culminating in the almost professional standards of some of the most able students. This position may suit a teacher who has at least two or three years experience, has aspirations to lead a department and can be mentored towards this role; or a more experienced teacher ready to take on a key departmental leadership position.
