We have an amazing opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our well-respected team at Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre in Wishaw, with amazing opportunities for clinical development in neurorehabilitation. As physiotherapy you will be working in our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre where we provide inpatient neurorehabilitation for people in the post-acute stages of recovery from acquired brain injury. You will also provide assessment and/or management advice for adults with brain injury and progressive neurological conditions living in our long term care facility.
You will be a key part of an experienced and progressive MDT. You will be assessing and managing complex patients with physical and cognitive difficulties. You will be comfortable working as part of an effective and dynamic multidisciplinary team to ensure that patient-centred goals are at the core of our treatment.
What you'll be working:
We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 22.5 hours per week

What you'll be doing:
Provide assessment and treatment of a variety of physical impairments post brain injury
Maintain high standards of clinical care
Provide clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Rehabilitation Assistants and students where appropriate
Participate in internal training (induction, mandatory training, MDT in-service)
Ensure all relevant codes of practice and regulations are upheld
Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives
Provide physiotherapy as part of the interdisciplinary team, and be involved in MDT service developments, meetings and audit as appropriate
Evaluate effectiveness of interventions using agreed outcome measures
Work as a 'Keyworker' for specific patients and their relatives/carers. This will include taking responsibility for communication with families; leading the set-up and review of patients' rehabilitation goals; supporting the discharge planning process including liaison with external health and social care teams.
Participate in the review and discharge process of patients through attending MDT meetings and writing appropriate reports
Delivering and monitoring innovative rehabilitation and care in order to promote independence
Deliver high quality therapeutic activities, using a wide range of approaches to suit the patient's varying needs
What you'll have:
BSc or recognised Postgraduate Diploma in Physiotherapy
Current HCPC registration
Experience of working specifically with patients that have neurological needs
Possess excellent organisation and communication skills
Be flexible and adaptable, well organised and able to manage time and workload effectively in line with the needs of the service
Be an excellent interpersonal worker, maintaining consistent and effective workplace relationships
