A Senior Security Consultant in the Global OTT (Over the Top) Security team is both passionate about security and can foster that passion in the team. This is an outward facing technical role in an internal consultancy, with a scope that involves agile development, architecture and design, and direct delivery.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with OTT teams to design secure architectures, identify security gaps that can be / are being exploited, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls
• Provide domain expertise and consultative security services to business and technical stakeholders through effective communication and using calculated and risk appropriate decision making
• Own initiatives from conception through to delivery while working with OTT teams and programme management to ensure security efforts are delivered and realised
• Collaborate with Sky teams to understand how security techniques are being leveraged against our platforms, and use that knowledge to improve our defences including challenging teams using constructive criticism or feedback
• Lead security planning and design activities such as gap assessments and supplier/tool/service evaluations
• Act as a senior stakeholder for security incidents

What you will bring:

• Good understanding of modern web frameworks and their security features and skills to design security into software products
• Excellent technical knowledge of at least some of the following: mobile apps, TV apps, cloud infrastructure, microservices, containers, DevSecOps, etc.
• Practical knowledge of security architecture, threat modelling, compliance-as-code, or similar approaches, as well as security risk management principles and related compliance standards & frameworks
• Experience working with automated, CI/CD-driven, cloud-native contexts with the ability to coach others
• Capability for planning and delivering work independently as well as managing teams/programmes when required using an agile approach while remaining focused on the business priorities
• Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with a strong focus on collaboration

Our goal is embedding appropriate security / DevSecOps practices in all we do within OTT. Your work will help ensure our streaming and video on demand platforms, globally, remain secure.

You will be passionate and knowledgeable about security. You will work closely with multiple teams across Sky to ensure our streaming platform defences are constantly secure.

As a Senior you will have a track record of successful engagement, consulting, or delivery, and you will be an authority and mentor for the Global OTT Security team. As part of a team of security consultants you will be given substantial freedom to solve problems and design solutions that meet OTT's security requirements, working with our in-house security engineering team as well as engineering teams and SREs (Site Reliability Engineer) across the tech stack. Your remit will be to review and improve security maturity within your dedicated area(s) of OTT. As part of an embedded team, you will work closely with other security functions within the Sky Group, and you will be continually growing and learning new things!
