To maintain our continuing plans to grow within this sector, we now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Business Development Executive.

Job Description

This is a field-based role and you will be required to travel Nationwide, Company car provided and as Business Development Executive you will be working closely with both the Sales Director and Business Development Managers and will be responsible for the following:

- Building up your knowledge of the education sector

- You will network and research invites to tender and work with our Business Development Managers, finance and ops teams to respond accordingly in a timely manner

- With the support of the Sales Director and Business Development Managers you will learn to be responsible for proactively building and maintaining client relationships, anticipating their needs and be excellent in selling the capabilities and strengths of Elior/Taylor Shaw/Edwards & Blake in the most positive way

- Support the Business Development Managers in managing the sales process from creating first appointments to closing the sale. Assist operators in planning and delivering effective mobilisation of contracts, co-ordinating with relevant support functions

- Once confident, you will be assigned your own target and will work on small/medium-sized tenders independently

- Supporting retention of key contracts, assisting operators in process, bid submission and presentations, coordinating with relevant support functions

- You will ideally have some experience in managing tenders within an acceptable timeframe for conversion, however, this is not essential as training will be provided

- You will have strong commercial acumen and ideally an understanding of financial models used to cost out delivery however, this is not essential as training will be provided

- You will be confident and have some experience in presenting to stakeholders and in articulating our key USPs in order to maximise our chances of winning with prospective clients

- You will be experienced in weekly report writing to demonstrate your activities to our senior stakeholders and to ensure our activity is in line with the company's business objectives

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Executive Role will be either someone who is currently in a junior sales role who is looking for development and mentorship to progress into a Business Development Manager role within 12-18 months or someone from an operational background within contract catering who would like to move into sales.

The experience and knowledge that we are looking for from our future Business Development Executive is

- Minimum 1-years' experience in a sales or operational role (Ideally within contract catering)

- Strong IT skills

- Strong commercial acumen

- An understanding of the contract catering market, ideally within the Education sector

- Strong presentation skills with an excellent ability to keep your audience engaged

- Excellent ability to maintain and build strong relationships

As part of your package, we are offering a salary up to £35,000 and commission based on the achievement of sales targets. You will also receive a company car, laptop and mobile phone.
