Bank Care and Support Assistant

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as "relief roles" in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren't guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.
We are seeking a Bank Care and Support Assistant to provide personal care and support to our residents at Avalon Court. Located on the Ipswich waterfront, Avalon Court has 14 self-contained apartments for adults with a physical disability or learning disability.
We are looking for candidates with a passion for supporting people with complex needs to live as independently as possible, someone who values kindness and patience and who treats others with dignity and respect.

The role of Bank Care and Support Assistant will include:
Providing personal care to residents, including washing, dressing and toileting
Supporting residents with both preparing and eating meals
Helping residents with their finances
Giving residents support in the local community, including food shops and trips into town
Aiding those with communication difficulties
Skills and experiences:
NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is essential
Previous experience in a similar care role is desirable
A patient and caring attitude
Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong "can-do" attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to undertake relevant training
