Requisition ID: 238944Requisition Posting End Date: 11/22/2021Senior ES&H SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Senior ESH Specialist is to assist in matters relating to the safety, health and environmental performance for the safe delivery of £50-£300 million of construction works (civil and fibre) within a geographical area. The role holder would be a team player capable of adapting to an integrated team environment.Typical ResponsibilitiesManaging a team of SHE Advisors and supporting to ensure objectives are metUndertake ES&H site assurance visits / inspections to monitor Client Duties and that of our external Principal Contractors, Designers and others to fulfil their CDM dutiesProvide professional ES&H advice, guidance, training and implement the customers ES&H strategy, engaging and supporting regional City Build TeamsUndertake ES&H audits/inspections, tracking trends and support the City Build Teams to mitigate riskSupport the contractor to develop contractor owned ES&H Improvement plans when intervention is requiredBe an ambassador for ES&H and help everyone understand how they can champion ES&H as part of their role on the projectChampion the ongoing improvements of the customers ES&H Management Systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001, 45001, OHSAS 18001.Supports the contractor with serious incident investigations, establish if lessons-learned are implemented, and strive to influence ES&H best practice across the various locationsMonitor changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuing legal compliance and best practice in the UKParticipate in the ES&H risk-review process, attend site team meetings and provide health and safety briefings to increase ES&H awareness and engagementDrive and influence best practice, ES&H innovation, and continuous improvementPreferred Skills and QualificationsNEBOSH Diploma, (or equivalent) 10 years + experience in Telecommunications and/or Utility associated construction industryIOSH Professional MembershipUnderstanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and their application during differing stages of design and constructionUnderstanding of Safe Location and Avoidance of Underground ServicesNRSWA Supervisor QualificationFirst Aid Basic CertificateFull Driver's License that is valid in the UKWhat you can expect from usAt Bechtel we offer a competitive salary package with the opportunity for flexible working to achieve greater work-life balance.
