Corner House Floating Support, Mansfield

£10.00

Hours as and when required

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as "relief roles" in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren't guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We are seeking a Bank Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

We provide community-based floating support to people aged 18 or over, who have learning disabilities and who live in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas of Nottinghamshire.

The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

Providing a high quality and hands-on support service
Supporting our residents to live as independently as possible
Ensuring that residents are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents
Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

Skills and experiences:

Ideally you will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, however candidates with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply as we are committed to delivering a tailored training programme
You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
A positive, 'can-do' attitude
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
