Sales Executive / Technical Sales Executive / Scientific Sales Exec required for a company who

specialise in the global sale of specialist Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials. As a team we are proud of the excellent standard of customer service we provide. Our customer base is primarily within Academia and commercial R&D and we work collaboratively with our clients to enable them to achieve their Research or Development goals. As a company we are innately inquisitive and are always looking to understand more about the current applications of the products we sell as well as the future potential they may have.

Package: Basic salary circa £32,000 OTE £36,800 + uncapped bonus)

Based from Tamworth Office, close to M42.

Job description: Sales Executive / Technical Sales Executive

The company is looking for a positive, driven individual to take responsibility for a portfolio of Advanced Materials and Equipment for the Energy Research sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly changing area of scientific innovation and with one of our largest manufacturers who we represent across UK and Europe. The role will be to seek out new business as well as maintain, grow and add value to our current customer base.

Candidates must have a strong B2B scientific or technical sales background with a minimum of 3 years account management with proven over target achievement, ideally with degree level education in Materials Science, Chemistry or an associated discipline. They will be an experienced professional who is adaptable, approachable and resilient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth from new and existing customers
  • Build strong customer relationships to ensure we are their first choice
  • Maintain and develop current relationships with existing suppliers and establish new business connections that will enhance the Company product portfolio
  • Present the Company to potential clients and suppliers through direct communication, face to face meetings, exhibitions, telephone and emails
  • Liaise effectively with all departments within the company to ensure first class customer service and positive business development
  • Stay up to date with current research projects and trends

Person Specification:

A strong B2B scientific or technical sales background.

A minimum of 3 years account management experience.

  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Highly motivated and target-focussed
  • Innate attention to detail and the ability to make commercial decisions
  • Demonstrates pro-activity and accountability for their own workload
  • Attended customer sites and exhibitions, experienced in using online platforms to contact clients
  • An enquiring mind and desire to stay up to date with current research and product developments
  • A sound knowledge of chemical formulae as well as metric and imperial units of measurement
  • Knowledge and experience of using web-based marketing tools, Microsoft Office and CRM databases
  • Full UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle

The desirable skills are:

  • Knowledge of Energy Research, especially Battery development
  • Educated to degree level in Materials Science/ Metallurgy/ Chemistry/ related discipline
