Could you be a Sense Relief (Bank) Support Worker?

It's an exciting time as Sense has just released its new strategy, we now have an opportunity for a Relief Support Worker to join our service in Birmingham.

This is a casual Relief Support Worker role, working up to 37.5 hours per week.

Sense offers 24 hours support to individuals, 365 days a year. There will be a variety of shifts on offer including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. As a Relief Support Worker you will be able to choose your own shifts.

In Birmingham we have a variety of different services including residential, supported living and day services in the following areas:

Kings Heath
Edgbaston
Kings Norton
Selly Oak
Selly Park
Handsworth Wood
Kingstanding
Erdington
Sutton Coldfield
Smethwick
West Bromwich

As a Relief Support Worker you will have a choice of where and when you want to work, and will have the opportunity to gain a lot of experience by supporting individuals in a variety of different settings where no two days are the same.

Your duties can include:

To support individuals / groups within the home, centre and community.
To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:

A full manual UK license and the willingness to drive is desirable as you will need to be able to travel between services as part of the relief team.
Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is desirable ( BSL / Makaton etc.) to be able to communicate on a basic level with the individuals we support.
You don't need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.
Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
