Job Title: NPD Assistant
Job Purpose:
Ensure the smooth running of NPD areas. Make / document and send product samples in accordance with NPD procedures.
Dimensions:
The department launches c300 new products each year taking briefs from all the major food retailers.
Department of a NPD Controller, NPD Managers and Development Technologists of varying experience.
External contact with customers and suppliers; internal contact with Marketing, Production and Buying.
Principal Accountabilities:
* To make kitchen samples in accordance with the NPD procedure.
* Ensure kitchen products are made / assessed in accordance with customer codes of practice.
* Ensure the kitchen and wet room areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner in accordance with procedures.
* Assist in other NPD activities where required
Qualifications, Background and Experience:
* Qualification in Food Science or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience and experience of managing food development projects.
* Experience of ambient stable product development from concept to manufacture.
* Good understanding of the thermal processing of long shelf life grocery products.
* Good interpersonal skills and skilled in making presentations.
* Computer literate with competency in Excel , Word and PowerPoint
