Fit-Out Project Manager / Senior Site Manager

Location: Wakefield (Office & UK-Wide Site Travel)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Employment Type: Permanent or Freelance
Freelance Rate: £250 - £275 per day

An established fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Manager to oversee fast-paced commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK.

This role would suit an individual with a strong fit-out background, ideally with a trade background in joinery, who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. Projects typically run between 4 and 10 weeks, requiring strong planning, subcontractor management, quality control, and client-facing skills.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing several live projects at any one time, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects concurrently.
• Coordinate subcontractors, labour, materials, and site activities.
• Carry out regular site visits across the UK.
• Monitor project progress and resolve site issues proactively.
• Ensure quality standards and health & safety compliance are maintained.
• Manage project programmes and support successful project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Provide project updates and ensure smooth project handovers.

Essential Experience

• Proven background within the fit-out sector.
• Experience delivering commercial, retail, hospitality, food retail, or refurbishment projects.
• Strong subcontractor management experience.
• Experience overseeing multiple live projects.
• Good understanding of site operations, quality management, and health & safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Preferred Background

• Qualified or time-served Joiner.
• Previous experience as a Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, or equivalent position within a fit-out contractor.
• Background delivering restaurant, retail, leisure, or commercial fit-out projects.
