You will also be an active user of AI tooling yourself, applying AI assistants to your own product and delivery work and helping the team get the most from AI agent-led development. The Role Own the delivery roadmap for a number of R&A features within Willis Neuron, translating business strategy and stakeholder priorities into a sequenced, deliverable plan. Champion the team's adoption of AI-assisted and agent-led delivery, adapting planning, estimation, quality and governance practices as delivery pace and shape change. Stay aware of AI and wider technology trends, assess what they mean for our products and delivery approach, and bring the credible ideas into the roadmap. Manage, resolve and escalate risks, issues and dependencies clearly and early. Ensure proposed solutions meet stakeholder needs whilst complying with WTW Group strategic architecture, security and compliance guidelines. Produce regular, concise and accurate progress reporting for the Programme Manager, the R&A & Data leader and senior stakeholders. Ensure delivered features are fully transitioned to Service Management and supported through their lifecycle. Work with fellow Product Delivery Leads and Product Managers to continuously improve our product and delivery management standards. Hands-on personal use of AI assistants in a professional setting, with good judgement on where they add value and where their output must be validated. Innovative and curious, willing to research and develop personal and team knowledge and skillsets, and to keep pace with fast-moving AI tooling and its impact on delivery. Experience of owning the full product lifecycle, from idea and business case through build and launch to hand-over to operational support. Demonstrable backlog ownership and prioritisation: shaping and quality-assuring user stories and acceptance criteria, and making trade-off decisions across scope, cost and time. Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, reporting progress against agreed deliverables and highlighting or escalating issues and barriers to delivery. A good level of technical knowledge, sufficient to challenge solution options and understand delivery constraints. Ability to run several features or workstreams concurrently, working independently without close supervision as well as collaboratively, and making key decisions in line with group and programme strategy. Ability to engage with business and technology stakeholders at all levels, both on and off shore, and across various geographies and time zones. Experience of both agile and waterfall delivery methods, and an understanding of the appropriate application of each. Desirable Previously worked in a financial services organisation, ideally insurance or insurance broking. Experience delivering data, analytics, climate or geospatial products. Description We are looking for a full-stack developer to join a growing Insurtech business unit (based in Cambridge) building market-leading insurance software with a focus on the development of modern SaaS based solutions. You will join at a genuine inflection point: we are moving from AI-assisted coding toward an agentic software development lifecycle, where engineers increasingly describe intent, and orchestrate, review and govern the work that AI executes. The Role Today the role focuses on: • Working with the Product Owner to define, refine and deliver the product backlog. • Designing and building software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements, using AI coding tools to accelerate delivery. • Writing and maintaining test-related code - unit tests, test frameworks and automated test cases. • Reviewing and debugging code to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt. • Participating in Agile/scrum activities (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and continuously improving team velocity, process and engineering practice. • Participating in incident response and continuously hardening the platform based on production learnings The role will evolve and we expect more focus on: • Business outcomes - partnering closely with business stakeholders to understand underlying needs, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and measure success through tangible business and user outcomes. • Design over implementation - spending more time defining system boundaries, integration patterns and architectural intent, using AI-assisted tools to explore solutions and validate design decisions before code is written. • Specification as a first-class craft - writing clear, testable intent and acceptance criteria that agents and humans can both act on. • Review and quality judgement - evaluating AI-generated work for correctness, security and design fit, rather than typing every line yourself. • Orchestration - composing and supervising AI capabilities and agentic workflows inside governed pipelines with clear quality gates. • Raising the team, not just yourself - turning good individual practice into shared, reusable capability so the whole team gets faster, not just one person. • Learning and adaptation - staying current with emerging AI capabilities and engineering practices, helping the team identify, adopt and govern new ways of working that improve delivery and outcomes Qualifications What you'll bring Core engineering • Solid full-stack development experience across modern front-end and back-end technologies, with cloud/SaaS exposure. • Strong grasp of software design, testing and quality fundamentals - you know what good looks like and can articulate why. • Comfortable working in Agile/scrum teams and collaborating closely with Product. AI fluency • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or agentic tools in real delivery - and, more importantly, good judgement about when to trust, correct or override them. • Able to write clear specifications and prompts, and to critically review AI-generated code for correctness, security and maintainability. • Curious and self-directed about emerging AI engineering practice - you actively experiment rather than wait to be trained. (Specific tools matter less than the fluency and judgement; the toolchain will keep changing.) Mindset • Comfortable with ambiguity and change - you can do valuable work today while the operating model around you is still forming. • Passion for complex problem solving, as well as statistics and algorithm development • Paint drip-shaped: you have multiple deep areas of expertise and demonstrate ability to use various approaches and adapt as roles blur. • Sees reviewing and specifying as real engineering and an opportunity to deliver even more value, not a step down from writing code. • A growth mindset and a bias to improve the system, not just complete the ticket. General knowledge of the insurance industry and degree level education in a relevant discipline is highly desirable but not essential. What we offer Enjoy a benefits package designed to help you thrive, both professionally and personally. You'll receive 25 days of annual leave plus an extra WTW day to relax and recharge.
