We're looking for a Marketing Assistant (Promotions) to join our Retail Marketing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is highly organised, customer focused and enjoys working with lots of moving parts to deliver successful marketing campaigns.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager and a wide range of stakeholders across the business, you'll support the delivery of marketing activity for Booker's Symbol retail brands. From helping produce promotional materials and consumer marketing collateral to coordinating deadlines and working with external agencies, you'll play an important role in bringing our promotional plans to life.

You don't need to come from a marketing background, but you will need a genuine interest in marketing, a willingness to learn and a passion for building a career in this area. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, behaviours and attention to detail who is excited by the opportunity to develop within a commercial marketing environment.

You will be responsible for

  • Supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns and promotional activity across our retail brands.
  • Producing and proof reading marketing collateral, consumer point of sale material and promotional leaflets.
  • Coordinating multiple tasks and deadlines to ensure marketing activity is delivered on time.
  • Working with internal teams and external partners to manage marketing requests and queries.
  • Acting as a key contact for our print and production agency.
  • Supporting the wider Marketing team with administrative and ad-hoc activities when required.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Helping to ensure all marketing materials are accurate, consistent and customer focused.

You will need

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong proof-reading skills and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.

  • Strong organisational and timeline management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.

  • A customer focused mindset, always considering the impact of your work on both colleagues and customers.

  • A genuine passion for marketing and a desire to build a career within a commercial marketing environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail.

  • Practical IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A proactive, positive and "can do" attitude.

  • The ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

  • A willingness to learn, adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience of working within a marketing team would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and balancing multiple deadlines would be advantageous.

  • Experience of working in a retail or wholesale environment would be beneficial.

  • Experience using Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs would be advantageous.
