Service Technician - Mechanical
Location: Hull
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Our client is an established engineering business specialising in power transmission equipment, industrial gearboxes and geared motors. Due to a vacancy within their existing team, they are looking to recruit a Service Technician to join their workshop-based operation.
This is a long-term opportunity for a mechanically minded individual looking to build a career within an established engineering environment.
The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, servicing and repair of industrial gearboxes, working primarily within the company's workshop.
The role is approximately 90% workshop based, with occasional travel to customer sites required when additional support is needed by the field service team.
Your main duties will include:
- Assembling industrial gearboxes
- Servicing and repairing gearboxes
- Working with bearings and mechanical components
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
- Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding equipment
- Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards
- Working safely and efficiently within the workshop
- Supporting the wider engineering team when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and be comfortable working hands-on with mechanical equipment.
We're particularly interested in candidates who have:
- A mechanical engineering background
- Time-served engineering experience
- Experience working with mechanical components
- Previous experience with bearings, gearboxes or similar equipment
- Good practical mechanical skills
- A hands-on and methodical approach to work
- Good attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and develop
- A genuine interest in securing a long-term permanent position
