Job Description

Equine Veterinary Surgeon Worcestershire

Full-time 4-day week Salary up to £75,000 DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent RCVS-accredited practice in Worcestershire, following a period of continued growth.

With more than 60 years of experience serving the local equine community, this respected practice combines high clinical standards with a friendly, supportive and genuinely independent approach.

The role

You will join a team of 12 veterinary surgeons, supported by an experienced reception team, providing a varied caseload with a strong focus on ambulatory work and lameness investigations.

The practice offers a high degree of clinical autonomy and is well equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, including:

  • Mobile gastroscopy unit
  • Flexible fibre-optic endoscope
  • Portable digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Equine acupuncture
  • A range of additional ambulatory equipment

This would suit an experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where clinical quality is prioritised and there is scope to develop their areas of interest. An enhanced salary package can be negotiated for an Advanced Practitioner. Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience.

Working pattern

Work-life balance is taken seriously, with a 4-day working week, typically 8:30am-6:30pm, including protected administrative time and a fixed day off.

The weekend rota is 1 in 4, with one night of on-call per week.

Package and benefits
  • Salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • Enhanced salary negotiable for an Advanced Practitioner
  • 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible CPD allowance
  • Certificate support
  • RCVS, VDS, BVA and one additional professional membership paid
  • Protected administrative time
  • Fixed weekday off
The location

The practice is situated in a historic spa town in Worcestershire, close to the Malvern Hills, offering an attractive combination of countryside and excellent transport links.

The location provides convenient access to the M5, Worcester and Birmingham, while Central London is also accessible for those looking to combine a rural lifestyle with proximity to the capital.
