Job Description

Legah Architecture is a growing, family-run architectural practice based in Bedford town centre, working across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and North London.

We are looking for a motivated Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our friendly and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with professional practice experience who is looking to develop their technical skills and take on greater responsibility within a small practice, working closely with experienced architectural professionals across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects.

You will be involved across design, planning, technical design and construction, with the opportunity to further develop your Revit and BIM skills, strengthen your technical knowledge and take increasing ownership of your work as you progress.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, technically minded, detail-focused and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with projects from initial design and planning through to technical design and construction.
  • Produce planning drawings, presentations and design information.
  • Produce and develop architectural models and drawings using Revit.
  • Work within a BIM environment and coordinate project information within Revit.
  • Prepare detailed technical and Building Regulations drawings.
  • Develop construction details and technical information.
  • Assist with planning and Building Regulations submissions.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of drawing packages.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors as required.
  • Attend site visits and assist with site-related matters.
  • Work closely with senior members of the team to strengthen your technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to design development and technical problem-solving.
  • Assist with project coordination and meeting agreed programmes and deadlines.
  • Take increasing responsibility for project work as your experience develops.

Experience and qualifications

  • Completed Part 2 qualification in Architecture or equivalent.
  • Previous professional experience within an architectural practice is expected.
  • Good knowledge of UK architectural design, construction and project delivery.
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations.
  • Competency in Revit is essential.
  • Experience working within a BIM environment and coordinating information in Revit.
  • Proven experience producing architectural drawings, presentations and technical information.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials and technical detailing.
  • Experience working across different stages of architectural projects is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and take responsibility for your work.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to contribute effectively within a small team.
  • Right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

  • £28,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience, technical ability and suitability for the role.
