Your New Role
As a Graduate/Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of innovative engineering products from concept through to manufacture. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional departments, you will gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle while developing your technical and commercial engineering knowledge.
Key duties will include:
- Producing 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Supporting new product development and product improvement projects.
- Assisting with engineering calculations, testing and validation activities.
- Preparing technical documentation and bills of materials.
- Liaising with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Supporting cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring designs comply with quality, safety and customer requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks Essential.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Placement year or internship experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
