A Vehicle Technician is required for a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position in Corby, paying £16.00 per hour with potential to rise to £20.00 based on skill level. The working pattern is 52 hours weekly, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with scheduled breaks. Reporting to the workshop in Corby, you will carry out scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and thorough safety inspections across a varied commercial fleet. Fault diagnosis and general repair work are central duties. Candidates should possess solid mechanical aptitude and be comfortable working independently. About the Role

Seeking an experienced or adaptable Mechanic / Technician to join our team in Corby. Working in a dynamic workshop environment, you will be performing routine maintenance, thorough safety inspections, and general repairs on a varied fleet. This role offers immediate work on a temporary-to-permanent basis, providing long-term career stability for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, routine servicing, and safety inspections.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Prepare vehicles to high standards for MOT and compliance testing.
  • Maintain clear and accurate service and repair documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical background working on light commercial vehicles (LCVs), heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), or automotive light vehicles.
  • Motor Mechanics Welcome: Candidates with standard automotive/light vehicle experience who are eager to work on commercial vehicles will be considered.
  • Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served experience).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
