Full time I.T. & Communications Management

Job Description

Business Development Executive (Remote / Flexible Working)

Mesh is a growing MEP and sustainability consultancy, and we're looking for a Business Development Executive to help drive our next stage of growth.

This role would suit someone with 1+ years' experience in sales, business development, account management or another client-facing role who enjoys building relationships and developing new business opportunities.

Unlike many sales roles, you'll inherit a warm network of architects, developers and contractors who already know Mesh Energy through previous projects and CPD events. Rather than high-volume cold calling, you'll focus on building relationships, understanding client requirements and converting opportunities into proposals and new business.

Working closely with our engineers and consultants, you'll learn how technical consultancy services are sold, develop commercial skills, and play a key role in supporting the growth of the business.

Why we like working here

  • Remote-first business with flexible working
  • Typically one office day per week
  • Competitive commission structure
  • Strong company culture with frequent team days, events & socials
  • Structured training and mentoring
  • Clear progression opportunities
  • 28 days holiday, increasing with service

What you'll be doing

  • Building relationships with architects, developers and construction industry professionals
  • Developing new business opportunities through existing contacts, referrals and networking
  • Conducting discovery calls to understand project requirements
  • Preparing proposals and client-facing documents
  • Managing opportunities through our CRM system
  • Working closely with our engineers to develop suitable solutions for clients

What we're looking for

  • Experience or exposure to sales, business development, account management or a similar role
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially minded and organised
  • Comfortable speaking with clients by phone, Teams and email
  • Motivated to learn and develop professionally

Experience within construction, engineering, sustainability or property would be beneficial but is not essential.

Training & Development

You'll receive a structured onboarding programme covering sales, business development, proposal writing, CRM systems and our technical services, supported by ongoing mentoring and coaching from senior team members.
