Job Description

iOS Engineer

Duration: 06 Months

Location: Manchester - 1 days onsite a week

The Role

Join our established engineering team as an Experienced iOS Engineer, where you will build, maintain, and elevate native iOS features alongside a TypeScript-based backend-driven UI solution. We are looking for a highly autonomous, pragmatic developer who can dive directly into an existing codebase and begin delivering production-ready software with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Delivery: Drive features from technical design through implementation and release using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Break down complex tasks and partner effectively with backend engineers, designers, PMs, and QA in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Quality & Stability: Debug production issues, write maintainable code with robust unit tests, and monitor app health using observability and crash reporting tools.

What You Bring
  • Core Experience: 3+ years of professional iOS development with deep expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, modern architectures (like MVVM), and UIKit interoperability.
  • Technical Chops: Proven experience consuming REST/GraphQL APIs, navigating CI/CD pipelines, and utilizing Xcode tooling.
  • Bonus Skills: Familiarity with GraphQL, A/B testing platforms, Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, large-scale consumer apps, and observability platforms (Grafana, Datadog, Firebase).
The Ideal Candidate
  • Autonomous & Impactful: You are comfortable in large codebases, require minimal onboarding to become productive, and have a strong focus on ownership.
  • Forward-Thinking: You possess strong engineering fundamentals and actively leverage modern tools-including advanced usage of AI assistants like Claude and Codex-to enhance your workflow.

Clear Communicator: You estimate work realistically, communicate risks early, and make pragmatic decisions that balance speed and quality.
