What You ll Do

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you ll support the finance function with day-to-day activities, including:

Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses and purchase orders accurately and on time

Reconciliation of supplier statements

Preparing and processing weekly bacs payment runs

Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations

Ensuring all invoices are approved in line with procedures

Dealing with internal and external stakeholders

Supporting month-end tasks, including journals, reconciliations

Compile Payment Practices reporting

Maintaining accurate financial records and helping prepare internal reports

Handling finance queries from project teams and suppliers, providing excellent service

Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and systems

Contributing to a collaborative finance team and supporting colleagues during peak periods

What We re Looking For

Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role

Strong numerical skills and attention to detail

Confidence using finance systems and Excel (VLOOKUPs/Pivot Tables a plus)

A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work to deadlines

Excellent communication skills and a team-focused approach
