Tax and Accounts Semi Senior Kent / Sussex border £28,000 - £35,000 plus full study support

A well-established firm of Chartered Accountants on the Kent and Sussex border is looking for a Tax and Accounts Semi Senior. They work with owner managed and family owned businesses, are registered to carry out audit work, and cover everything from day to day compliance through to business planning, restructuring, sale of business and inheritance tax planning. They also work on fixed fees rather than hourly billing, which shapes how the whole practice runs.
This is a genuinely mixed role across accounts and tax, so you get variety rather than being pushed down one route early.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing and submitting corporation tax and personal tax returns
- VAT returns and bookkeeping work
- Speaking to clients directly and dealing with their day to day queries
- Supporting the directors on planning and advisory work as it comes up
What they're looking for:
- Experience in an accountancy practice, ideally across both accounts and tax
- AAT qualified or ATT/ACCA part qualified, or qualified by experience with the right depth
- Comfortable dealing with clients rather than sitting behind the work
- Someone who wants variety and is happy to get involved across the board
