Job Description

Tax Manager (Practice) - Tax Advisory

Staffordshire or Fully Remote CTA Qualified Advisory Focus

If you re CTA qualified and want to spend more of your time doing genuine tax advisory work, this one is worth a look.

I m working with a growing accountancy practice looking for an experienced Tax Manager to work closely with their Tax Director and become a key part of the wider tax team.

And a big plus you can either be based with the team in Staffordshire or work fully remotely, so they re very open on location for the right person.

The role has a real advisory focus, working with a varied client base of owner-managed businesses, business owners, HNW individuals and corporate groups.

What will you be getting involved in?

There s a really good mix of work here and, depending on your background, you could be involved in:

  • OMB and business owner tax planning

  • IHT and Capital Gains Tax advice

  • Income extraction planning

  • Corporate restructures and group reorganisations

  • Purchase of own shares and demergers

  • Share schemes and remuneration planning

  • HMRC clearances

  • ERS reporting and ATED

  • Complex enquiries and disclosure work

You ll work closely with the Tax Director on advisory projects from start to finish, carrying out technical research, preparing written advice and dealing directly with clients.

Who are they looking for?

You ll need to be CTA qualified with post-qualification experience in tax advisory and be comfortable producing high-quality written tax advice.

But you don't need to tick every box on the list above.

You might have a broad OMB background across personal and corporate tax, or your experience might lean more heavily towards either Private Client or Corporate Tax Advisory.

They're looking for someone technically strong who enjoys advisory work, can confidently deal with clients and wants to play a key part in driving projects forward alongside the Tax Director.

Why is it worth considering?

For me, the combination of the work and flexibility makes this a really interesting opportunity.

You re getting proper advisory exposure, direct access to the Tax Director and the opportunity to take on more responsibility, without needing to be tied to an office several days a week.

Based in Staffordshire? Great. Further afield? Fully remote can absolutely be considered.

If you're CTA qualified and this sounds like the kind of move you'd be interested in, click apply. I'm happy to talk you through the opportunity confidentially before you decide whether you want to take it any further.
