Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Gloucester. You'll play a key role in ensuring that incoming materials, components and finished products meet our quality standards, engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Working across goods-in, production and final inspection, you'll help us maintain the high standards our customers expect while supporting a strong quality-first culture across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming goods against purchase orders, drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Carry out dimensional, visual and functional inspections using appropriate measuring and test equipment.
  • Identify, quarantine and report non-conforming materials and raise NCRs where required.
  • Complete accurate inspection, traceability and quality records.
  • Carry out in-process inspections and audits to ensure manufacturing and assembly standards are maintained.
  • Support production teams in identifying and containing quality issues.
  • Carry out final inspections of completed products prior to despatch.
  • Verify that products have been assembled, tested and labelled correctly and meet customer requirements.
  • Review test, inspection and build records before products are released for shipment.
  • Investigate and escalation quality issues and support corrective actions where required.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering and Logistics to maintain quality standards.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Practical experience in a quality inspection, manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
  • Experience of incoming, in-process and/or final inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment, including vernier callipers, micrometers, gauges and test equipment.
  • Understanding of quality management principles, including non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis and traceability.
  • Knowledge of quality documentation, inspection records and certificates of conformity.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP or stock management systems is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to raise and escalation quality concerns effectively.
