Job Description

Intelance is building a trusted associate team for senior identity and data access work. We are looking for a Principal IAM Consultant to act as the design authority on complex client engagements. You will turn business access needs, system evidence and security requirements into a clear access model that teams can implement and operate.

Tasks

Your work will include:

  • Challenging discovery findings before they are presented to senior client stakeholders.
  • Mapping who should see and change client, fund and confidential business information.
  • Designing access rules for joiners, role changes and leavers.
  • Defining roles, groups, approval routes, access reviews and controlled exceptions.
  • Reviewing service accounts, integrations and delegated access.
  • Connecting Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, data platforms and business applications into one workable design.
  • Turning the design into clear implementation steps, dependencies and evidence of completion.
  • Working directly with technology, security, data and business leaders.
  • Providing proportionate assurance during pilot and delivery work.

The first assignment is expected to be a small number of paid review days. Further work will depend on client approval and funded delivery.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong recent experience designing identity governance and access models in complex organisations.
  • Deep hands on knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
  • Practical experience of joiner, role change and leaver processes.
  • Experience designing role based access, access reviews, privileged access and exception controls.
  • Experience governing service accounts and access used by integrations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint permissions.
  • Experience connecting business access decisions to technical groups, roles and permissions.
  • Able to challenge evidence and explain risks and design choices in plain English.
  • Comfortable working with senior client stakeholders and taking ownership of design quality.
  • Based in the United Kingdom and able to work during UK business hours.
  • Available for short assignments with the potential to support later delivery.

Strong advantage:

  • Experience with Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
  • Experience with AI tools or connectors that can reach company information.
  • Experience in financial services, investment management or another regulated business.
  • Experience supporting an access redesign or implementation across several connected systems.
Benefits
  • £650 to £850 per day, depending on the depth of experience and the assignment.
  • Fully remote work within the United Kingdom.
  • Focused assignments with clear outcomes and direct access to the engagement lead.
  • Work with senior client teams on access problems that matter.
  • Further paid work when a client approves the next delivery phase.
  • Clear scope, agreed days and prompt payment.
