A well-established UK law firm with a strong reputation for complex regulatory, criminal and advisory work is looking to appoint an experienced Crime & Regulatory Solicitor / Partner to join its growing team in Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced regulatory or criminal defence lawyer to take on a varied caseload of complex and sensitive matters, working with a diverse client base across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the continued development of the practice, taking ownership of high-profile matters while supporting colleagues and contributing to client relationships and business growth.
The Role:
- Lead on a varied caseload of complex crime, regulatory and compliance matters
- Advise clients on contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues
- Handle sensitive matters including investigations, inquests, statutory inquiries and regulatory proceedings
- Manage matters from initial instruction through to resolution, providing clear and commercially focused advice
- Develop effective case strategies and provide practical solutions to clients
- Represent clients and liaise with regulators, investigators, counsel and other relevant stakeholders
- Supervise, mentor and support junior members of the team
- Assist with the wider management and development of the practice
- Contribute to client relationship management and identify opportunities for further work
- Support business development initiatives, networking and profile-raising activity
- Maintain high standards of client service, quality and commercial awareness
About You:
- An experienced Senior Associate, Legal Director, Partner or equivalent
- Strong experience in crime, regulatory, compliance or criminal defence work
- A proven track record of managing complex and sensitive matters
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Strong advocacy, drafting and communication abilities
- Confident managing client relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders
- Experience supervising and developing junior lawyers
- Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Ambitious and keen to play a key role in the continued growth of a specialist practice
