Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Experienced Compressed Air Pipe Fitter on behalf of our client based in Witham, Essex on a permanent basis.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Install aluminium, copper, stainless steel and threaded steel pipework for compressed air and industrial gas systems
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipework to required dimensions
- Install pipe supports, brackets, hangers and clamps
- Assemble and connect pipework using mechanical fittings, brazing, soldering and welding techniques where required
- Carry out pressure testing, leak testing and commissioning of completed systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on compressed air systems
- Replace damaged components and ensure systems are operating efficiently
- Work alongside electricians, engineers and other trades to complete projects
- Ensure all work is completed to health and safety regulations and company standards
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Travel to customer sites as required
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with project coordination and site installations
- Support and mentor junior pipe fitters where required
- Complete installation reports and relevant documentation
- Ensure projects are completed to agreed timescales and quality standards
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years' experience as a Pipe Fitter, ideally within compressed air or industrial gas systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience working with aluminium, copper, stainless steel and threaded steel pipework
- Knowledge of brazing, soldering, welding and mechanical pipe fitting techniques
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card desirable
- IPAF and PASMA certification advantageous
- TIG and/or MIG welding experience beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Pattern & Benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
