Role Purpose

The Head of Golf Experience is responsible for leading, evolving and enhancing the golf proposition across The Club Company portfolio. The role will drive participation, retention, commercial performance and member satisfaction by creating an outstanding golf experience for members, visitors and guests. Working closely with GMs, Golf Operations Managers, PGA Professionals, the Membership & Product team, Marketing and the Group Course Manager, the Head of Golf Experience will ensure that TCC delivers one of the most compelling and progressive golf experiences in the UK.

The role will balance respect for the traditions and values of the game with a willingness to challenge outdated practices, introduce new ideas and ensure golf remains relevant, accessible and attractive to future generations.

  • Champion the evolution of golf within TCC, balancing tradition with innovation.

  • Seek inspiration from other sports, leisure and hospitality sectors to introduce new ideas, formats and experiences.
  • Lead initiatives that make golf more welcoming, flexible and accessible whilst protecting the values that make the game special.
  • Ensure TCC remains at the forefront of how golf is experienced and enjoyed.
Partnerships & Development
  • Build relationships with commercial partners, governing bodies, schools, community organisations and commercial partners.
  • Develop initiatives that increase participation, visibility and commercial performance.
  • Share best practice and innovation across the portfolio.
Golf Course Experience
  • Work closely with the Group Course Manager to ensure courses and practice facilities deliver an exceptional playing experience.
  • Provide golfer insight into course presentation, enhancement projects and investment priorities.
  • Act as the link between golf operations, club committees and course management to ensure a consistent and high quality golf experience.
Performance & Leadership

Support the relevant in club teams in delivering golf performance objectives. Monitor and improve key metrics including:

  • Membership growth and retention
  • Visitor revenue and yield
  • Retail performance
  • Strikeshack utilisation
  • Female and junior participation
  • Golf satisfaction scores

Use data, insight and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like
  • Golf membership grows sustainably across the portfolio.
  • Retention improves year on year.
  • Visitor and golf related revenues and yield outperform budget.
  • Strikeshack becomes a meaningful participation and revenue driver.
  • Female, junior and beginner participation increases significantly.

We are looking for someone who understands what makes golf special, yet equally excited about what it could become. A passionate, commercially minded leader who is obsessed with creating exceptional golf experiences, growing participation and attracting new audiences to the game. You will challenge convention, bring fresh ideas from inside and outside golf, and help ensure TCC remains at the forefront of the modern golf experience.

Experience

Ideally would come from golf but candidates from broader sport, leisure, hospitality or other customer focused membership businesses would be seriously considered. Most importantly, you will have a track record of growing participation, improving customer experiences and successfully delivering change.

You will believe that golf can remain true to its traditions whilst becoming more relevant, welcoming and accessible to future generations.
