Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller

We are a small, dynamic finance team working in a business with UK roots and international reach. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their finance experience and develop their career within a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment.

The Accounts Assistant (with Credit Control Responsibility) supports the finance team by managing credit control processes, reconciling accounts, producing daily cash reporting, and assisting with audits and month-end processes. This is a fast-paced office based role and requires excellent communication and having the ability to multi task is essential.

This recently created position will provide wide-ranging support across the accounts function with the opportunity to take ownership of tasks including Credit Control. The role is designed to give exposure to all areas of finance, making it ideal for someone with 2-3 years' experience in an accounts role who is eager to progress in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting supplier and expense payment processing.
• Reconciling multi-currency bank accounts (Sterling, Euro).
• Uploading invoices to customer EDI systems and ensuring accuracy.
• Preparing and reporting the daily cash position.
• Assisting with monthly management accounts and audit preparation.
• Supporting intercompany reconciliations across global operations.
• Providing cover for purchase ledger and other finance team functions.
• Assisting in the development of finance processes, controls, and system improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced (2-3 years) in a finance or accounts environment.
• Good knowledge of credit control processes and financial administration.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (experience with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables desirable).
• Confident and professional in communication, both internally and externally.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with customers and internal teams.
• Positive, proactive, and eager to learn.
• Happy working in a busy and fast paced environment
