Job Overview

As a Customer Assistant in one of our JohnLewis shops, you will deliver outstanding customer service, support shop standards, and help build customer loyalty. Night shifts (22:00-06:00) receive a premium of £3.75 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inspirational customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
  • Use product knowledge and sales training to drive sales and increase profits.
  • Identify the customers' needs, acknowledge and resolve queries.
  • Support the wider team flexibly - till, stock replenishment, price ticketing, and general shop keeping tasks.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement solutions.
  • Help protect profits by supporting accurate stock counts.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential skills and experience:

  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Strong communication skills.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience in a customer facing role (welcome but not essential).
  • Experience with merchandising and product displays.

Compensation & Working Hours

Pay: £13.91 per hour. Night premium: £3.75 per hour for hours worked 22:00-06:00.

Contract type: Temporary.

Hours of work: Varied part time (15 hours/week) across seven days: evenings and weekends (16:00-19:10 weekday evenings, 09:50-19:10 Saturdays, 10:25-17:10 Sundays).

Job level: Partnership Level10.
