We are recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to join a leading engineering contractor based in London. We are particularly interested in candidates with mechanical and HVAC estimating experience. However, we are also keen to hear from Quantity Surveyors who are looking to transition into an estimating role.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for mechanical and HVAC packages on technically demanding projects. Working closely with commercial, engineering and project delivery teams, you will help produce accurate tenders and support the successful delivery of future projects.

• Produce detailed estimates for mechanical and HVAC installations.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Complete accurate take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Work closely with internal teams to develop competitive tenders.
• Identify value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
• Assess project risks and commercial considerations.
• Assist with tender submissions and post-tender negotiations.
• Maintain estimating records and pricing databases.
• Support project handovers following successful bids.

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical building services.
• Experience estimating mechanical and HVAC projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Mechanical engineering, building services or HVAC industry experience.
• Candidates from a Quantity Surveying background looking to move into estimating are encouraged to apply.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.
