Our Practical Conservation Group Volunteers make a real difference to their local environment. Without them, many threatened butterflies and moths could be lost forever. Working with other volunteers doing hands on, practical work, they help ensure that the site is a haven for wildlife and the people who enjoy it. You'll engage in activities such as cutting, raking or digging, and there's often a bonfire and refreshments.
You will enjoy physical work and have the chance to see the results of your efforts both on the day and in the following spring and summer when the butterflies and moths return. You don't need prior knowledge of butterflies or moths - you'll learn about them and other wildlife.
Come and join us for a taster day - and if you like it, we'd love to have you back for more!
