Job Description
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long term basis from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children within Nursery and Reception who have additional needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and feel supported within a nurturing early years environment.
The school has a strong Early Years provision and a highly experienced SENCo, offering clear guidance and ongoing support to all staff. This role would suit someone with previous SEN experience or a strong interest in early childhood development and SEND.
The role will involve:- Providing 1:1 and small group support within Nursery and Reception
- Supporting children with a range of SEND needs
- Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo to implement EHCP targets
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- A supportive and friendly Early Years team
- Strong leadership and a collaborative working culture
- Ongoing SEN training and CPD opportunities
- A well resourced learning environment with excellent indoor and outdoor provision
- Easily accessible location with great transport links
- Have experience working with children with SEND (EYFS experience desirable)
- Be patient, nurturing, and proactive

This is a full time, long term position starting in September 2026, with the potential to become permanent. Competitive daily rates are offered.
