Freelance Senior QS Claims Consultant

A freelance claims consultant is urgently needed for a 6+ month assignment in East London.

A Claims Consultant, probably with a quantity surveying or contract administration background is needed to join a siginificant building and civil engineering project in East London near to Essex and next to good public transportation.

Responsibilities and Duties

A Senior QS / Contract Administrator / Claims Consultant is needed to lead a team of 2 other staff to work on handling a claim from a civils subcontractor. Working using NEC contract form, the employer needs assistance to summarise and elevate a claim submitted from the subcontractor and to demonstrate within the contract that the claim is not valid or appropriate. Suitable candidates will be professional, have gravitas, be able to argue a convincing case to the client and to the subcontractor and be systematic in their work.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Around 20 years' experience is anticipated although candidates will be reviewed on merit.
• Strong understanding of the NEC form of contract is essential

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• MRICS is desirable as is any other professional qualification
