Job Description

We're looking for a full-time Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to plan and lead our communications and marketing at two of the most prominent historic places in Wrexham - Erddig Hall and Garden and Chirk Castle and Garden. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow support for our work and connect communities with nature, beauty, and history.

Salary: £27,612 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract Duration: Permanent

What it's like to work here

Working flexibly from home and across both Erddig Hall and Garden and Chirk Castle and Garden, you'll play a key role in shaping how we tell our stories, grow our audiences and strengthen our impact across Wales and beyond. You'll be part of a creative and supportive Wales-wide Marketing and Communications team, working collaboratively to bring our places and visitor offer to life across multiple channels.

The role reports to the Communications and Marketing Delivery Partner leading for Growth in Wales, and you'll work closely with colleagues across the region to help delivery our charity's wider strategic priorities. With two very different and distinctive places in your portfolio, no two days will be the same, and you'll work at pace with a wide range of people and teams.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead communications and marketing activity for both Erddig Hall and Garden and Chirk Castle and Garden, tailoring national strategy to local audiences and property priorities.

At Erddig Hall and Garden, you'll help share stories of nature from the estate, celebrate the Hall's heritage and extensive collection, and highlight the strong community work and the role the property plays in bringing people together through shared heritage, learning and participation. At Chirk Castle and Garden, you'll bring to life the rich history of this medieval fortress and family home, promote its exceptional gardens, and showcase the conservation work that protects its landscape, biodiversity and status as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). You'll also promote events and experiences that reflect the unique character of both places.

You'll work closely with senior colleagues to develop messages and themes, find fresh and creative ways to tell the stories of National Trust Cymru places, and engage our audiences with the work we do to protect nature, beauty and history. This is a varied, fast-paced role, managing multiple priorities and promoting a wide range of events, campaigns and distinctive site stories.
