Job Description
Overview:
This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, equipment, and services to support operations and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead procurement activities across multiple projects and operational requirements
Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with business and technical needs
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and framework agreements to achieve best value
Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and performance targets are met
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical specifications and requirements
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures
Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks within engineering and industrial sectors
Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement within the supply chain
Resolve supplier issues, including delays, non-conformance, and commercial disputes
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health & safety requirements
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or similar procurement role within engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements
Experience managing complex supply chains and working with international suppliers
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong commercial awareness and analytical mindset
Desirable:
Experience within power, utilities, or industrial infrastructure sectors
Knowledge of fabrication, mechanical, or electrical components procurement
