A well-established environmental and planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join its growing team in Cardiff. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated Senior Ecologist looking to work across a broad range of environmental, infrastructure and development projects throughout the UK.

The organisation is recognised for delivering high-quality environmental services across planning, ecology and landscape disciplines, working closely with both public and private sector clients. The successful Senior Ecologist will become part of a collaborative team environment that promotes professional growth, technical excellence and long-term career development.

In this Senior Ecologist position, you will oversee ecological surveys, prepare technical reports, support habitat and protected species assessments, and contribute to planning and environmental strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous consultancy experience in an ecological role
  • Strong report writing and ecological survey knowledge
  • Understanding of UK ecological legislation and planning policy
  • Experience with protected species surveys advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Degree in Ecology or a related environmental discipline
  • Professional membership with CIEEM desirable
  • Must live within a commutable distance of the Cardiff office
